Beautiful food, familiar faces and plenty of exciting plans: our industry networking evening at Stockton House at the beginning of October gave us rather a lot to talk about. In fact, a few of us barely came up for air!
The evening celebrated our collaboration with Wild Garlic Catering, Stockton House’s exclusive in-house caterers, who treated everyone to the most beautiful selection of food. What better way to introduce a partnership than by gathering some of the wedding industry’s wonderful people around delicious food and good conversation?
From the guys at Synergy Live Band and the main man himself from Chamberlain Events to Jess from Bridal Mackintosh, Erin from The OTC Edit and Bridal by Jayne, we welcomed professionals from across the wedding world. The suppliers who arrive at dawn, those still working long after dusk, and everyone in between came together for a proper chinwag.
The evening followed our showcase the previous Sunday, when we met some absolutely lovely couples considering Stockton House for their wedding. Amy had created a beautiful vision for the styling, brought to life—and then some—by the fantastically talented Lesley at White Fern Weddings and Victoria Wright Floral Design.
After a quick look around the house and showing off some of the new features that Stockton is well and truly boasting (PANELLING!)… we reflected on this year’s weddings, shared successes and talked excitedly about what’s in store for 2027 and 2028. There is something special about getting so many creative, experienced people in one room and hearing their ideas for the celebrations ahead.
Behind the scenes, our team had another reason to celebrate. Although we couldn’t share the news that evening, we had just learnt that Stockton House had won Wedding and Event Venue for the West Midlands at the Local Awards. A very proud moment for everyone involved.
And somewhere between the conversations and the food, Amy and I managed to sneak away to record podcasts with the talented Wild Garlic team, our brilliant styling suppliers, Lydia from Brides View Bridal Boutique and Laura Holness, award-winning bridal hair and makeup artist.
A little celebrating, plenty of success sharing and a great deal of forward planning. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening such a joy. There is so much to look forward to at Stockton House.
