KIND WORDS FROM WEDDINGS
AT STOCKTON HOUSE
Have a look at the kind words people have said about
their weddings at Stockton House.
“We find ourselves at a loss for adequate adjectives to describe just how extraordinary this wedding venue is. Nothing about it is average, and unless you’ve had the privilege of getting married there, it would be hard to fully appreciate the magic that Stockton House holds.”
Emily and Gareth
“If you are looking for a wedding venue that will give you cherished memories to last a lifetime, Stockton House is the place for you! St Chad’s Church is reminiscent of a fairytale castle, and getting married there made us feel like royalty. We couldn’t recommend this perfect venue enough!”

What’s included in your wedding packages?
When you book your ceremony at Stockton House, you’ll receive full access to the grounds. All seven bedrooms in Stockton House will be available to you, along with a custom check-in and check-out time. Couples also receive full access to our in-house bar and vaulted cellar.
Our packages also include all crockery, furniture, glassware, table settings and linen. You’ll also receive your own wedding planner and meal planner, helping you to create your perfect day.
Do you offer exclusive venue hire?
All our wedding packages are designed for exclusive use by each couple. When you book with Stockton House, you will receive full access to all on-site locations, including our church, walled-garden dining area, Stockton Manor, and the Victorian Turning House.
How many guests can you accommodate?
Stockton House comfortably accommodates a maximum of 100 seated guests and 120 standing guests. Our venue also requires a minimum of 50 guests. If you wish to enquire about a custom number of guests, please feel free to contact us to discuss it further.
What happens if our guest numbers change (up or down)?
We understand that guest numbers can fluctuate and change up to the last minute, so that’s why we confirm the catering list no more than 30 days before the wedding day. Alternatively, if you’re worried that your guest list may drop below the minimum threshold, you need not worry; these changes can be handled with minimal fuss.
Can we hold the ceremony on-site or do we need to find another location?
You can certainly hold your ceremony on site. Better yet, you can choose from a variety of locations, including our licensed secret walled-garden dining room, on the ground floor of Stockton House, at our on-site church or in the bright and airy gardens of our Victorian turning house.
What’s your catering offering, and can we customise the menu?
Our catering is all done in-house by our highly skilled chefs and built around flexibility and inclusivity. We can create bespoke menus that cater to allergens, intolerances and specific dietary requirements for you and all your guests. The menu-tasting session will allow you to make any changes or further alterations to suit your exact specifications for your big day.
What about evening food and bar options?
If you wish to plan an evening dinner for you and your guests, we can certainly work with you to create a bespoke, personal menu that suits you and your guests' needs. For bar options, we offer fully customisable options that cater to the requirements of both you and all your attendees.
How far in advance should we book, and what’s the deposit/cancellation policy?
Stockton House is a popular venue, and so we recommend contacting us as soon as you have a specific date in mind. The earlier you can let us know, the better chance you have of securing your desired date.
For all bookings, a £3,000 deposit is required to confirm the date and begin the process of planning your wedding.
Cancellation fees are dependent on when you cancel. 6 months before the wedding will forfeit the deposit, 3-6 months will absorb 50% of the deposit, under 3 months will take 75% and less than one month will result in 100% of the deposit being held.
Do you have in-house suppliers or can we bring our own?
All our bar and catering services are done in-house, helping us to control the smoothness and operations of these services throughout the day. We do not allow the use of external caterers for any events at Stockton House, but we do our best to cater to all of your and your guests' dietary needs.
Are there any noise or curfew restrictions?
To respect and maintain the peace and tranquillity of the environment, all live music and entertainment is permitted in the main reception until 11pm. After that, recorded music may continue until midnight when the curfew hour is reached.
What happens in case of bad weather for outdoor ceremonies?
You need not worry if your big day is met with challenging weather. Stockton House has various on-site, indoor venues that can be used as beautiful wedding/ceremony locations. Use our indoor, quaint church, our secret walled-garden dining hall, or our main house. Weather-related issues are always addressed quickly and concisely by our professional team.
