As we open Stockton House for the very first time this year, we’re so pleased to announce that we hosted our first wedding (on one of the hottest days of the year)! The lovely Laura and Dom were the first couple to be greeted with our brand new, exclusive wedding venue in sunny Shropshire and we couldn’t be happier.
The night before the wedding
The celebrations started the night before the wedding with a relaxed evening of pizza, beers and champagne on the terrace. With excitement building for the wedding day, our chefs crafted a delicious selection of pizzas including Margarita, Fennel Seed Salami, Ham & Mushroom & Mediterranean Vegetable which were served to Laura and Dom’s nearest and dearest that were staying over at Stockton the night before.
Let the wedding celebrations begin…
Laura and her bridesmaids had an early start with coffee and pastries (English Breakfast Tea for Laura!) as hair and make up arrived at 7:00am. Dom and his groomsmen enjoyed a stroll on the estate to settle some pre-match nerves followed by continental breakfast in the private dining room.
Guests are arriving in style
At 11:00am guests began to arrive on the Apley Estate and were greeted by our hosts. The bride and groom wanted guests to start their wedding day in the stunning gardens surrounded by the beautiful Shropshire countryside, so our lovely team of hosts guided the guests through the house upon their arrival.
The wedding ceremony
At Stockton House, you have so many options in terms of where to hold your ceremony. Our lovely couple chose to get married in our unique Victorian turning house in the stunning gardens. Our bespoke Victorian turning house was decorated with beautiful summery floral installations. As their guests took their seats on the lawn in front of the turning house, music began to play and the beautiful bride walked down the garden aisle amongst stunning flowers on either side – just perfect!
It’s official
The vows have been exchanged and it’s official! A huge congratulations to the happy couple. Champagne bottles start popping, drinks are flowing and guests begin to mingle on our brand new terrace and gardens. Our team of hosts begin to serve guests a selection of mouth-watering and bespoke canapés that Laura & Dom crafted with our chefs!

The wedding breakfast begins
As the day starts to unfold, guests begin to take their seats in the stunning secret walled garden dining room for the very first time. This unique, purpose-built space is beautifully decorated with summer flowers and pink candles – perfect for a summer wedding! A bespoke restaurant for the day, Laura & Dominic designed it with three lovely long tables in the middle of the room and a top table for themselves (and their close family and friends of course).

Let’s get this party started
It’s time for cocktail hour! Laura & Dom wanted a cocktail hour after the wedding breakfast and so we served freshly made margaritas to celebrate the happy couple. Being one of the hottest days of the year, this ice-cold cocktail went down a treat with guests.
As evening guests arrive… It’s time for their first dance as a married couple. Guests began to join the dance floor in our beautiful secret walled garden dining room before the evening food was served. At Stockton House, you can have whatever evening food you’d like on your wedding day, Laura & Dom chose mouth-watering tacos. A delicious choice and perfect to munch on before returning to the dance floor.

The morning after the wedding day, guests enjoyed a delicious and much needed full English breakfast served in our stunning private dining room. Recalling memories of the day before and brushing away the cobwebs and fuzzy heads! At Stockton House, all staying guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast of their choice.
