Stockton House offers a private and peaceful setting in the quaint Shropshire countryside, providing a special and serene environment for your family and loved ones to join in remembrance and reflection. Can we visit the venue before booking?

Absolutely. You can arrange a viewing before booking with us by getting in touch via phone or email, where we’ll be happy to answer any of your questions and arrange a time and date that suits you.

How far in advance should we book?

Stockton House is a popular venue, so we always recommend contacting us as soon as you have a date so that we can secure the day and begin all necessary preparations. Additionally, we understand that certain occasions require last-minute bookings, yet we still encourage you to contact us in the event of availability or a last-minute cancellation.

What is included in the venue hire?

When choosing Stockton House for your wake or funeral reception, you will gain exclusive access to the entire grounds, allowing you and your guests to enjoy the house, gardens, and dining room with full privacy and no interruption.

Do you provide catering?

Yes, Stockton House provides a full catering service for you and your guests. Our award-winning kitchen team will create a menu that perfectly fits your day.

How many guests can the venue accommodate?

Depending on the layout and type of event you wish to have, Stockton House can accommodate up to 100 seated guests or 120 standing guests. There is a minimum of 40 guests.

Is there parking and easy access for older guests?

Absolutely. Stockton House provides free on-site parking for all guests, with only a small walk to the gardens or main house, making it hassle-free and convenient for older guests or disabled guests to access the venue.

Can we bring personal items like photos, music, or memory tables?

Yes, our guests are more than welcome to personalise the space with photos, memory tables, music, and other sentimental trinkets to make your event extra special and honour your loved ones. We are also a private venue, so you will have full flexibility to tailor the environment and choose the décor to suit the event.

How do you support families during the planning process?

Stockton House works closely with families to fully understand their needs, offering support in the curation of the event, such as seating and guest numbers, menu choices, timings, venue arrangements and any other touches that help make their day extra special.
